The Mariana Islands forest Birds
Birds on is lands tend to be the most conspicuous and unique wildlife because they are one of the few animals able to complete long journeys over the sea Archaeological evidence has shown that before people arrived in the Mariana islands, there were a great many more bird species than present today, including several species of endemic rails and parrots. It is conceivable that each island had several of its own endemic species found nowhere else in the world. With the arrival of the first people，bird extinctions soon followed and continue to the present day, either from the activities of people themselves or from introduction of predators and competitors.
